The 4th round of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup was held at Tokachi Speedway in Hokkaido from Saturday, August 24th to Sunday, August 25th, 2024.

Although Kishimoto had a disappointing result at the Fuji tournament, he maintained his motivation and took on the Tokachi tournament in the middle of the series. Although the number of participants was small, there were many veteran and local drivers, so a high-level battle was expected. On the exclusive run day, he recorded the top time in a session close to the qualifying time, and his pace on the long runs was also good.

The road conditions on qualifying day were dry, so it was important to get a clear lap. We tried to attack close to the top group, but the cars in the front group spread sand on the course, reducing the grip of the road surface. Due to the high temperature, we were unable to improve our time, and our qualifying result was a tough 8th place.

The final day started with a clean start under cloudy skies and slightly low temperatures. During the race, I ran over a curb and lost my alignment, so I couldn't maintain my original pace and didn't improve my position. However, I finished the race without losing position and earned points. I'm in 4th place in the rankings, 17 points behind 1st place, and in a position to aim for the series championship. I'm looking forward to the next race in my hometown, Okayama.
