Super Taikyu
スーパー耐久
The Super Taikyu Series (S-Tai) is a Japanese endurance racing series based on production cars. Its key features include a wide range of classes with limited modification rules and mixed entries of professional and amateur drivers. Unlike SUPER GT, the series sees many privateer teams compete alongside factory teams, earning it the nickname “the great grassroots race.” Race distances range from 500 km or 3–4 hour events to the Fuji 24 Hours, requiring driver changes and pit work. Rules limiting the number of pit crew help reduce disparities between large-capital and small teams. Originating from the 1985 night endurance race, the series has evolved into a nine-class championship, with GT3-spec ST-X cars at the top.
